What is Reboot Academy?
Reboot Academy is Reboot Australia’s telehealth wellbeing and employment service for people with a record who are looking for work - or getting ready to.
It’s delivered 1:1, so there’s no generic advice and no one-size-fits-all program. Every session is built around the individual: their record, their situation, and where they want to go next.
Co-delivered
An Allied Health Practitioner and a Lived Experience Support, together on every call.
Telehealth
Private video sessions you can join from anywhere in Australia.
Confidential
A safe, judgement-free space - what you share stays between us.
The six sessions
Each session builds on the one before. By the time you practise the hard conversation, you have already done the work that makes it possible.
- 1
Where am I now?
Where you are at today, what you have got going for you, and what is genuinely in the way.
- 2
Understanding the past
Making sense of what happened, without shame. You are not the worst thing you have done.
- 3
Growth and change
Gathering your own evidence that you have already changed, so it is not just something you say.
- 4
Owning your narrative
Working out how to talk about your record, then practising it out loud until it is survivable.
- 5
From confidence to capability
Keeping the job, not just getting it.
- 6
Sustaining confidence
Handling the knock-backs, and what happens after the program finishes.
Sessions run one at a time, usually a week apart. The program runs alongside your job search, never instead of it.
How to book
Take the full program, or start with a single session and decide afterwards.
Resilience and Confidence for Justice-Impacted Individuals
Six sessions, one at a time, at your pace
Six weekly one-on-one sessions that take you from where you are now to being able to talk about your record with confidence, get work, and hold onto it. Each session builds on the one before, so by the time you practise the hard conversation you have already done the work that makes it possible.
- A structured program, not a one-off chat
- Practise the record conversation before you have to have it for real
- Clinical care alongside lived-experience credibility
- Runs alongside your job search, never instead of it

How it works
Every Reboot Academy session is co-delivered by a qualified Allied Health Practitioner and a Lived Experience Support. That combination is deliberate.
The practitioner brings the clinical skill - the frameworks, the evidence-based tools, the ability to hold a structured conversation about difficult things without it falling apart. The mentor brings something different: credibility. They’ve been where you are. They know what it took to rebuild.
Together, they create a session that’s both genuinely human and practically useful. It shouldn’t feel like an interview or a case-management appointment - it should feel like a conversation with people who are actually in your corner.
Who it’s for
For individuals
For anyone post-release who’s finding their record is getting in the way - whether that’s not knowing how to talk about it, the job search feeling overwhelming, or knockbacks that have knocked your confidence.
For Workforce Australia providers
A professional, evidence-informed service to refer job seekers with a record to - one that actually addresses the specific barriers this cohort faces, rather than a generic employment-readiness program. Book on a participant’s behalf and pay by card or invoice.
Reboot Academy is not a crisis service
Reboot Academy is planned support, booked in advance. Sessions run at a set time with a practitioner and a peer worker, and we are not able to answer calls or messages outside those times. If you need to talk to someone right now, or you are worried about your safety, please use one of the services below. They are free, confidential, and there is no wait.
Your GP is also a good place to start. They can talk through what is going on and put a mental health plan in place with you, which can cover the cost of seeing a psychologist.
If you need to talk to someone now
These services are free and confidential. You do not need a referral and there is no wait.
