Prison & Community Programs
Holistic reintegration programs that combine personal development, accredited training, employment and ongoing mentoring to create real pathways from justice involvement to sustainable work.
Reboot Australia delivers structured programs both inside correctional facilities and in the community. Each program is designed around a holistic model that addresses the real barriers justice-impacted people face when trying to re-enter the workforce.
Our programs go beyond training alone. They combine reintegration education - including how to own your narrative to an employer, challenge mitigation, and future you building - with nationally accredited qualifications, direct employment pathways and ongoing mentoring from people with lived experience of the justice system.
Breaking Through is one of our flagship program types, but the model is designed to be adaptable. Whether delivered over several weeks or several months, in custody or in the community, the core framework remains the same: build the whole person, not just the resume.
What Our Programs Include
- Owning your narrative - Participants learn how to talk about their past with confidence and honesty using Reboot's structured framework. This includes positioning your criminal record to an employer, role-play interview scenarios, and building a personal narrative that opens doors rather than closing them.
- Challenge mitigation and future you building - We work with participants to identify the barriers that could derail their progress - whether that is housing, relationships, substance use, or mindset - and develop practical strategies to manage them. Future you building focuses on setting goals, building resilience and creating a vision for what life looks like beyond the justice system.
- Accredited training and industry tickets - Participants complete nationally recognised training and industry-relevant tickets and licences aligned to real employer demand. This gives them formal qualifications that improve employability and remove one of the biggest barriers to entry.
- Lived-experience mentoring - Each participant is supported by a mentor who has been where they are. This lived-experience connection builds trust, reduces drop-off, and provides practical guidance that only comes from someone who has walked the same path.
- Direct employment pathways - The goal is not just program completion - it is employment. Our programs are designed with employer partners so that participants have a clear pathway into real job opportunities on the other side.
- Ongoing post-placement support - Support does not stop at placement. We continue working alongside the participant and employer to ensure the transition is successful and sustainable over the long term.
