About the Role
If you know your way around reo bar and can read structural drawings without breaking a sweat, this one's got your name on it. We're placing experienced Steel Fixers into a busy SVC (precast) products manufacturing operation based in Dandenong South, with steady ongoing work on offer for the right person. The team produces a range of precast concrete products and you'll be working on the factory floor, bending, cutting, and tying reinforcing steel to specification. It's hands-on, physical work in a structured production environment where attention to detail and working to schedule matters. This is a great opportunity to lock in stable, full-time hours with a team that knows what they're doing. Key Responsibilities
- Cut, bend, and tie reinforcing steel bar and mesh to engineering drawings and specifications
- Set up and place reo cages and steel assemblies into precast moulds
- Read and interpret structural drawings and schedules accurately
- Work to production timelines and output targets on the factory floor
- Conduct pre-start checks on equipment and report any faults or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and organised work area in line with site safety standards
- Work closely with the production team to ensure quality outcomes on every pour
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Steel Fixer in a precast, civil, or construction environment(Essential)
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)(Essential)
- Ability to read and interpret reinforcement drawings and bar schedules(Essential)
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
- Certificate III in Steelfixing (CPC31511 or equivalent) or trade background in a related discipline
- Forklift licence (LF) or experience operating factory plant and equipment
