About the Role

Our client operates a busy a la carte meats facility in Morningside and is looking for a reliable cleaner to join the team on a casual full-time basis. This is hands-on work in a food processing environment, so if you're someone who knows how to get in, get it done, and do it properly, you'll fit right in. The role involves cleaning and sanitising production areas, equipment, and amenities to meet strict food safety and hygiene standards. You'll be working across various areas of the facility, so the ability to follow procedures closely and work efficiently without supervision is a must. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants consistent casual hours in a stable, well-run operation. The team is hard-working and straightforward, and they need someone who brings the same attitude every single day.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitise production areas, equipment, and surfaces to food safety standards
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and pressure wash floors and work areas
• Clean cool rooms, freezers, and storage areas as required
• Remove waste and dispose of non-toxic materials in accordance with site procedures
• Clean and restock amenities including bathrooms, lunchrooms, and change rooms
• Use and maintain cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and correctly
• Follow site hygiene, WHS, and food safety protocols at all times
• Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or non-compliance to the supervisor

Requirements

• Previous experience in a commercial, industrial, or food processing cleaning role(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
• Ability to follow strict hygiene and food safety procedures(Essential)
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods(Essential)
• Food Safety or Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working in a meat processing or food production environment
