Launching the Breaking Through Program
A New Model for Reintegration
The Breaking Through program represents a shift in how we think about post-release employment. Instead of training people in isolation and hoping they find work, Breaking Through is employer-led from day one. Participants enter the program knowing they have a workplace waiting for them, a team ready to support them, and a qualification they will earn along the way.
How It Works
Breaking Through runs for approximately twelve weeks across five structured phases. The first phase begins before participants even start on site, covering workplace readiness, safety inductions, and personalised goal-setting. Once on the job, participants work alongside experienced colleagues while completing units toward a nationally recognised Certificate II qualification.
Throughout the program, Reboot case workers provide regular check-ins, address any barriers that arise -whether that is housing, transport, or personal challenges -and keep communication open between the participant, employer, and training provider.
Early Results
The response from both employers and participants has been strong. Employers value the structured support that reduces the risk of early attrition, while participants consistently report that having a clear pathway and genuine workplace connection makes a real difference. Breaking Through is proof that investing in people at the point of transition delivers results for everyone involved.
