HR Driver and Truck Jockey

About the Role

If you're happiest behind the wheel and know your way around a moving truck, this one's got your name on it. We're on the lookout for an experienced HR Driver and Truck Jockey to join a busy allied moving operation based in Cairns, QLD. This is a hands-on role where no two days look the same, and your driving skills are just as important as your ability to work hard alongside the team on the ground. You'll be responsible for transporting household and commercial goods safely and efficiently across local and regional routes, as well as repositioning and jockeying trucks around the depot and staging areas. The team you'll be joining takes pride in delivering a professional, damage-free service, and they need someone who shares that same standard. This is a full-time opportunity with consistent hours in a role that keeps you active and on the move. Key Responsibilities

• Drive HR-class vehicles to transport household and commercial furniture and goods on local and regional runs
• Jockey and reposition trucks around the depot, yard, and staging areas as required
• Assist with the loading and unloading of furniture and goods, using correct manual handling techniques
• Conduct pre-start vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly
• Secure and restrain loads correctly to prevent damage in transit
• Communicate with the operations team regarding schedules, delays, and delivery requirements
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle at all times
• Follow all road transport regulations, company policies, and workplace health and safety requirements

Requirements

• Valid HR (Heavy Rigid) licence - current and unrestricted(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling throughout the shift(Essential)
• Solid understanding of load restraint requirements and safe driving practices(Essential)
• Previous experience in removals, transport, or a similar allied moving environment
• Forklift licence (LF) or experience operating yard equipment
