FIFO Water Truck Driver

About the Role

If you're comfortable behind the wheel of a heavy vehicle in remote Queensland and you thrive on the independence of FIFO life, this one's got your name on it. Our client is running a busy operation out of Quilpie QLD and needs an experienced Water Truck Driver to join the team on a FIFO, casual full-time basis. You'll be keeping the site watered and dust suppression on point across a remote work site, so reliability and a solid safety mindset are non-negotiable. This is a hands-on, outdoors role with plenty of time in the cab and a straightforward routine that suits someone who knows their way around heavy plant and remote site expectations. You'll be working alongside a tight-knit crew in a well-organised operation where getting the job done safely and efficiently is what matters most. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a water cart to carry out dust suppression and site watering across the work site
• Conduct pre-start checks on the water truck and report any defects or maintenance requirements
• Fill and manage water loads from designated fill points, monitoring water levels throughout the shift
• Follow site traffic management plans and adhere to all speed limits and site rules
• Communicate with supervisors and other operators to coordinate water distribution across active areas
• Maintain accurate shift records and complete daily paperwork as required
• Assist with general site housekeeping and support other plant operations when directed
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and comply with all site WHS policies and procedures

Requirements

• Valid Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) licence(Essential)
• Water Cart Operation ticket or demonstrated experience operating water carts on civil or mining sites(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
• Ability to meet FIFO roster requirements and work in a remote location near Quilpie QLD(Essential)
• Previous experience on remote mining, civil construction, or resources sites
• Fatigue management awareness and experience working extended rosters
