About the Role

If you're the type who'd rather be out in the fresh air building something with your hands than counting down the hours at a desk, this one's for you. Our client runs a busy agricultural and rural fencing operation based in Narre Warren, VIC, and they're on the lookout for experienced fencers to join the team on a casual full-time basis. The work is physical, hands-on, and satisfying - you'll be out on site each day constructing and repairing a range of fence types across rural and semi-rural properties. The team works across a variety of projects, from plain wire and barbed wire fencing through to post and rail, electric fencing, and steel post installations. You'll need to hit the ground running - this isn't a role for someone still learning the basics. The crew values people who can work independently, take pride in a job done right, and keep things moving on site. Hours are typically early starts Monday to Friday, so if you're a morning person who likes to get the day cracked early, you'll fit right in. Key Responsibilities

• Install a range of fence types including plain wire, barbed wire, electric, post and rail, and steel post fencing
• Operate fencing machinery and small plant including post hole borers, droppers, and post drivers
• Carry out manual excavation and post setting as required
• Repair and maintain existing fencing structures on client properties
• Handle and store fencing materials safely and efficiently on site
• Follow all site safety procedures and WHS requirements at all times
• Communicate with the site supervisor regarding daily tasks, progress, and any issues arising on site
• Ensure work areas are left clean and tidy at the completion of each job

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in agricultural or rural fencing construction and repair(Essential)
• Valid car driver licence - you'll need to travel to and between job sites(Essential)
• Must be physically fit and capable of sustained outdoor manual labour in varying weather conditions(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
• Experience operating post hole borers, star picket drivers, and other fencing plant and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret site plans or job specifications
