Caulker

About the Role

If you take pride in a clean seal and a job that looks as good as it performs, this one's for you. We're placing experienced Caulkers for casual full-time work on commercial and residential construction projects across Melbourne. You'll be working alongside skilled trades teams, applying sealants and caulking compounds to joints, gaps, and penetrations across a range of surfaces and substrates. The work is hands-on, consistent, and suits someone who knows the difference between a rushed finish and a professional one. Our client runs a busy construction operation with a strong pipeline of projects, meaning reliable workers can expect ongoing hours. You'll need to hit the ground running, work safely around other trades, and bring a professional attitude to every site you step onto.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply caulking compounds, sealants, and backing rods to joints, gaps, and penetrations on internal and external surfaces
• Prepare surfaces prior to application, including cleaning, grinding, and masking
• Select appropriate sealant products and tools for the substrate and environmental conditions
• Read and interpret job specifications and drawings to identify caulking requirements
• Work alongside other trades and coordinate sequencing to avoid damage to finished work
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
• Follow site safety procedures, attend toolbox talks, and report hazards promptly
• Ensure finished work meets quality standards and client specifications

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Caulker or Sealant Applicator on commercial or residential construction projects(Essential)
• White Card (Construction Induction) - must be current and valid(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen(Essential)
• Ability to work at heights and in confined or awkward spaces as required(Essential)
• Knowledge of a range of sealant products, substrates, and application methods(Essential)
• Experience with fire-rated and acoustic sealant applications
• Own hand tools preferred
