Machine Operator

About the Role

If running heavy machinery is second nature to you, keep reading. We are on the lookout for an experienced Machine Operator to join a busy industrial operation based in Hemmant, QLD. This is a hands-on role where you will be operating and monitoring industrial machinery, conducting pre-start checks, loading and processing materials, and working alongside a solid site crew to hit daily production targets. Safety is non-negotiable here, and you will be expected to follow all WHS procedures and keep your work area clean and hazard-free throughout every shift. To be considered, you will need proven experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industry environment, along with a current White Card or the ability to get one before you start. You must be physically fit, able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, and comfortable working in a demanding, fast-paced environment. A forklift licence (LF ticket) will put you ahead of the pack, and any background in recycling, waste management, or metals processing is a real bonus.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment in line with site procedures and safety requirements
• Monitor machine performance and report any faults or abnormalities to supervisors
• Conduct pre-start checks on all equipment before operation
• Load, feed, or process materials through machinery in a safe and efficient manner
• Keep work areas clean and free from hazards throughout the shift
• Follow all site WHS policies, procedures, and safe work instructions
• Work alongside other operators and site crew to meet daily production targets
• Complete basic maintenance tasks and carry out housekeeping duties as required

Requirements

• Previous experience operating industrial machinery in a manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industry environment(Essential)
• Current Construction Induction (White Card) or ability to obtain one prior to starting(Essential)
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol screen(Essential)
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks in a heavy industrial environment(Essential)
• Forklift licence (LF ticket) highly regarded
• Experience in the recycling, waste management, or metals processing industry is a bonus
